If △RST ~△ABC, m∠A=x^2-8x, m∠C=4x-5, and m∠R = 5x+30, find m∠C.

Please help I have no idea what's going on

Explanation:

So △RST ~△ABC means that although the size or scale of the triangle may be different, the angle measurements are congruent. They gave you the value of m∠A and m∠R which are corresponding angles (aka they need to be congruent) Solve the equation.

x^2-8x = 5x+30

Move all the values to one side

x^2 - 13x - 30 = 0

Factor out

Use factoring or the quadratic formula if it does not factor.

In this case, it won't factor out, so the quadratic formula is the best method.

When you find x, substitute it in the equation 4x - 5 to get the m∠C
