How to find the slope between two points:

Formula:

slope =
(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)

Step-by-step explanation:
The above formula finds the rise over the run (slope) of the distance between the points

What goes where?
The x and y values of the first point goes into the x1 and y1 spots. The second point's values go into the x2 and y2 spots.

Example:
Let's find the slope between the points (2, 3) and (-1, 4).
First we will plug in the values.
We'll take the y values from the second and then the first point and put them on top. Then we'll take the x values and put them on bottom.
This gives us
(4 - 3)/(-1 - 2)

If we do the subtraction we get
(1)/(-3)

This means that the slope of the line between the two points is -
(1)/(3)
