What happens at the root tip

At the tip of a plant’s root, there’s a busy area where new cells are made. These cells become different root parts like the outer layer, middle, and parts for carrying water. A cap protects the tip, and cells stretch out to make the root longer. The tip also grows tiny hairs to absorb water and nutrients. It can sense gravity, helping the root grow downward. Think of the root tip as the root’s growth center, making it longer, protected, and well-equipped to explore the soil.
