for slope we must remember y2-y1 / x2-x1
so our equation would be -4-5 / 8-2 giving us the slope of -9/6

Answer:

slope = -
(3)/(2)

Explanation:

calculate the slope m using the slope formula

m =
(y_(2)-y_(1) )/(x_(2)-x_(1) )

with (x₁, y₁ ) = (2, 5 ) and (x₂, y₂ ) = (8, - 4 )

substitute these values into the formula for m

m =
(-4-5)/(8-2) =
(-9)/(6) = -
(3)/(2)
