A hemispherical bowl has an internal diameter of 30cm. How many litres of water could it contain?

Answer:

V = 4/3 π R^3 volume of sphere of radius R

V = 4/3 π 15 cm^3 = 14140 cm^3

Vh = V/2 = 7070 cm^3 volume of hemisphere

N = 7070 cm^3 / (1000 cm^3 / L) = 7.07 litres
