  • The earth revolves around the sun in an elliptical path called the orbit , and it's speed increases as it goes on the forward direction closer to the sun as the gravitational force acts in the direction of the velocity which means when the earth is far from the sun ,the gravitational force acts as a reluctant in the path which cause the speed to decrease.
