You never showed the diagram but for nitrogen with 7 electrons, its is 1s2 2s2 2p3
For 1s and 2s orbitals they are fully filled with 2 arrows 1 pointing up and another down showing opposite spin directions in 1 quantum shell. 2p orbitals have 3 boxes housing up to 6 arrows, since only 3 valence electrons they fill up each of the 3 boxes with the 1 arrow for each box pointing in the same orientation. This is because half filled p and d orbitals are more stable reducing inter-electronic repulsion between the electrons. Hence nitrogen tends to achieve a half filled p orbital
