Wilson’s fourteen points influenced the terms of the Treaty of Versailles by aiming to maintain peace. While many of his points weren’t implemented into the treaty, they impacted the creation of the treaty’s points, some of which included reduction of arms and boundary adjustments.

Because the Treaty of Versailles was shaped by the concerns of the Allied Powers in WWI, harsh impositions were placed on Germany. Economic instability and nationalism in Germany later led to the spark of WWII, which took place in September of 1939 following the attack on Poland.
