Italian anti-Semitic laws were instituted after the decree of the “Manifesto of Race” in 1938. Under the rule of the fascist regime of Benito Mussolini, these discriminatory laws deprived Jews of their civil rights and put racist laws in place strictly to prohibit Jews from having their own liberties.
