⦁ A particle is moving along X-axis. At time t1 =2s, its position is x1=3m and at t2=7s, its position is x2=18m. What is the average velocity of the particle?

Answer:

V(average) = (S2 - S1) / (t2 - t1) (average speed)

V = (18 - 3) / (7 - 2) = 15 / 5 = 3 m/s in the +x direction

Note distinction between speed and velocity (velocity includes direction)
