What does it mean to say that a function F is continuous at (a,b)?

Answer: For a function to be continuous at a point, it has to have the following 3 criteria:

1. f(a) is defined

2. lim x-->a⁻ f(x) = lim x-->a⁺ f(x), ∴ lim x-->a f(x) exists

3. f(a) = lim x-->a f(x) = b
