A soul can be most easily defined as a non-physical thing that has emotional or intellectual intelligence.. It can be inferred that all humans have souls, since we all would, by that definition, need one to live.

A soul can also be described as a person's personality, perception, and recollection of memories. When we talk about a person (not regarding physical descriptions), it can be inferred that we are describing a trait of their soul. We can also infer that each person (or soul) is unique and individual.
