Explanation:

The cost of proportionality is the slope or the steepness of the line. You can find this by taking a point on the line like (1,2) and write in the form y/x 2/1 or2. The slope is 2. You can do this for any point other than the point (0,0) on the line. For example, the other point that is graphed on the line is the point (5,10). If we write that in the form y/x we get 10/5 which is also 2.

Another way to do this is that slope is the rise over the run. If you start at the bottom point graphed and move up 8 spaces and then move 4 spaces right, you will be back on the line. This is a slope of 8/4 which is 2.
