Structural lowlands are large, relatively flat areas that are part of a depressed region in the Earth's crust. They are characterized by a relatively low elevation, which is often due to erosion, and a shallow slope. Structural lowlands can form as a result of tectonic activity, such as subsidence, and can be found in various parts of the world, including the Great Plains of North America, the Mississippi Delta region, the North European Plain and the Ganges basin in India.
