In the coordinate plane, three vertices of rectangle hijk are h(0, 0), i(0, d), and k(e, 0). what are the coordinates of point j? (2e, 2d) (2d, 2e) (e, d) (d, e)

Answer:

(e, d)

Explanation:

The line hi is vertical (as the x coordinates are both 0) and its length = d units. The point i is also on the y axis as h is the point (0,0), the origin.

So the line ij is horizontal as the figure is a rectangle and the point j is vertically above the point k , jk being vertical and of length d. The point j has y coordinate equal to i ( = d) and x coordinate = that of k which is e.

So the point j has coordinates (e, d).
