Imagine that your school counselor has asked

you to design a pamphlet about conflict
resolution so she can distribute it to help
students resolve their conflicts. She also wants
the students to know about the school's peer
mediation program (in order to find students
who either want to be mediators or who need
mediation). The pamphlet needs to include the
following items:
T
• A definition of conflict
. Information about the different types of
conflict
.
.
.
.
Descriptions of various conflict
resolution activities (mediation,
negotiation, arbitration)
A description of peer mediation
An explanation as to why it is important to practice positive ways to resolve conflict
Any images that you think support the information contained in the pamphlet
Your pamphlet should be designed so that all the information is well organized and all text is clearly legible.
The pamphlet can be created as a full-page flyer or a traditional three-fold design. Before you begin, access
the Conflict Resolution Pamphlet Checklist in the application dropbox to make sure that you include all of the
items required for full credit. If resources outside of this course are used to complete this assignment, please
submit a Works Cited document. If you need assistance, visit the Developmental Module for information on
citing any resources that you used.

Let us start with the basics. What is conflict? Conflict is a disagreement or argument between two or more parties. It can arise from different beliefs, values, interests, or goals. There are different types of conflict, including interpersonal conflict (between individuals), intrapersonal conflict (within an individual), and intergroup conflict (between groups or organizations). Now, let us explore various conflict resolution activities. Mediation is a process where a neutral third party helps the conflicting parties reach a mutually acceptable solution. Negotiation is a process where the conflicting parties discuss their differences and try to reach a compromise. Arbitration is a process where a neutral third party listens to both sides and makes a final decision that is binding.

In addition, our school has a peer mediation program. This program allows students to act as mediators to help their peers resolve conflicts. It is a great way to develop leadership skills and contribute to a positive school environment. Why is it important to practice positive ways to resolve conflict? Well, resolving conflicts in a positive way can lead to better relationships, increased understanding and respect, and a more peaceful environment. It can also help individuals develop important skills such as communication, problem-solving, and empathy.

To summarize, conflict is a natural part of human interaction, but it is important to resolve it in a positive way. There are different types of conflict resolution activities, and our school has a peer mediation program to help students resolve their conflicts. By practicing positive ways to resolve conflicts, we can create a more peaceful and respectful school environment.
