In a school exam hall,the desks are lined up with 80 cm between them as shown below. if each desk is 1 m wideand the desks are put against the wall how many desks can you fit across a room that is 19 m wide?​

This is because each desk is 1 meter, and 80 cm = 0.8 m. Then if you add each desk with the space between it and the next desk you get 1.8m. If you divide 19 by 1.8, you get about 10.5, but you can’t have half a desk, so the answer is 10.
