Throughout the story Animal Farm, Squaler is a sidekick of the pigs, and he uses propaganda to convince the animals that what the pigs are doing is correct, and he lies about things that have happened on the farm and when the pigs cheat the 7 commandments, he convinces the others that they’re just misunderstanding what is happening. He basically gaslights the animals throughout the story, convincing that the pigs are always right in what they do.
