To start, there are a total of 40 non-picture cards and 12 picture cards in a deck of 52 cards.

There are a total of 13 heart cards, 10 non-picture and 3 picture.

Since 10 of those heart cards are non-picture, they are included in the total 40 non-picture cards. However, 3 cards are heart cards but are picture cards.

So, you are essentially adding the 40 non-picture cards (with the 10 non-picture heart cards included within that 40) to 3 more cards that are heart cards that have a face/picture on them.

Thus, your probability of receiving a non-picture card or a heart card is

40/52 + 3/52 = 43/52

Approximately 82.69%

Hope this helps!
