35(2.40) + 1.80x = 2.10(35 + x)

84 + 1.8x = 73.5 + 2.10x Subtract 1.8 from both sides

84 = 73.5 + .3x Subtract 73.5 from both sides

10.5 = .3x Divide both sides by .3

35 = x
