According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the highest percentage of births to unmarried mothers in the United States is among non-Hispanic Black women. In 2019, 69% of births to non-Hispanic Black women were to unmarried mothers, compared to 29% of births to non-Hispanic White women and 52% of births to Hispanic women. It's worth noting that the percentage of births to unmarried mothers has been increasing across all racial and ethnic groups in the United States over the past few decades.
