Answer:

3/4

Explanation:

We have two lines:

r = p + b eq(1)

5r = 4p + b eq(2)

eq(2) - eq(1)

4r = 3p

dividing by 4p

r/p = 3/4

Answer:

3/4

Explanation:

Since (p, r) lies on the line y = x + b,

we have,

r = p + b -----eq(1)

Since (2p, 5r) lies on the line y = 2x + b,

we have,

5r = 2(2p) + b -----eq(2)

Sub the value of r from eq(1) in eq(2),

5(p + b) = 4p + b

⇒ 5p + 5b = 4p + b

⇒ 5b - b = 4p - 5p

⇒ 4b = -p

⇒ b = -p/4

sub in eq(1)

r = p + (-p/4)

= p - p/4

= 3p/4

⇒ r = 3p/4

⇒ r/p = 3/4
