How to graph slope 2/5 and y intercept of 3

Explanation:

the slope is the ratio of

y coordinate difference / x coordinate difference

so, a slope of 2/5 means to go from a point on the line 2 units up (y direction) and 5 units right (x direction).

the y intercept is the y value when x = 0.

in our case this means (0, 3) is a point on the line.

from there we go 2 up and 5 right giving us (5, 5) as a second point.

mark these 2 points and then draw a line through both points (extending beyond the points, of course).

You basically start on y coordinate 3 and then you move up 2 on the grid positively and then move to the right 5 times on the grid
