The sum of the first 8 terms of the sequence 8, 4, 2 is:
S_8 = (8 - 8(1/2)^8)/(1 - 1/2)
S_8 = (8 - 0.00390625)/0.5
S_8 = 15.9921875
Rounding to the nearest hundredth, the sum is approximately 15.99.
