make a device that would allow people to pass objects to other people
across a room without having to get up. They combined a remote
control car with a basket and a spring, so that a person sitting in a
chair could reach down and pull the object up.
The device worked, but Tilde wasn't sure. "I don't know," she said. "This
is a lot of work for a problem that most people don't have. I don't think
it's really solving a problem."
Then Laquiana said, "Actually, I think my dad could use this. He uses a
wheelchair. He can get around fine, but sometimes he has trouble
