Art 1: Create a 1-2 minute formal oral “pitch” that includes the elements of your narrative. Pretend you have been granted a couple of minutes with a famous publisher. You enter their office and start: You should include:

-A greeting
-What the novel is about (brief summary of the plot)
-The context (setting, situation)
- Why readers would want to buy your book (theme, character)
- A quick wrap up.

Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is ___, and I want to tell you about my debut novel. It's a coming-of-age story that follows the journey of a ____named __, who is struggling to find __ place in the world. __ is a recent college graduate who is feeling lost and unsure of what to do next. _ decides to take a job as a nanny for a wealthy family in New York City, hoping that it will give __ some direction.

The novel is set in the present day, and it deals with themes of identity, self-discovery, and the challenges of growing up in a fast-paced, modern world. __ is a relatable character who readers will root for as _ navigates the ups and downs of _ new job and tries to figure out who _ is and what _ wants out of life.

I think readers will love this book because it speaks to the universal experience of feeling lost and searching for meaning in life. It's a story that will resonate with anyone who has ever struggled to find their place in the world. Emily is a character that readers will connect with on a deep level, and I believe that her journey will inspire and uplift them.

Thank you for taking the time to listen to my pitch. I hope that you will consider my novel for publication.
