The ratio of the number of cars to vans in a parking lot is 8:3 and the ratio of the number of motorbikes to vans is 2:5. If there are 15 motorbikes find the number of cars.​

Answer: Number of cars = 100

Explanation:

Ratio given:


(Cars)/(Vans) =(8)/(3)


(Motorbikes)/(Vans) =(2)/(5)

Find cars if motorbikes = 15


(15)/(Vans) = (2)/(5)


Vans = (75)/(2)

Vans = 37.5

using the ration of cars to vans:


(Cars)/(37.5) =(8)/(3)

Cars = 100
