Can the kidney and excretory system work by itself?

Answer:

The kidneys and sudoriferous glands are responsible for the removal of any aqueous (water soluble) toxins and waste products from the blood. The system functions so that each organ in the system works in conjunction with, and independent of, the other organs.

I don't think so. If there was just an excretory system, the system would have nothing to keep it going. You'd need a brain, as well as a heart and a set of lungs for the blood.
