Angela makes custom picture frames that she sells online. The glass pane of the frame costs her $30.00. If the glass pane represents 12% of the cost to make a frame, how much money does it take for Angela to make one picture frame?

well, the total cost is really "x", which oddly enough is the 100%, and we also know that 12% of that is $30, so

\begin{array}{ccll} Amount&\%\\ \cline{1-2} x & 100\\ 30& 12 \end{array} \implies \cfrac{x}{30}~~=~~\cfrac{100}{12} \\\\\\ \cfrac{x}{30} ~~=~~ \cfrac{25}{3}\implies 3x=750\implies x=\cfrac{750}{3}\implies x=250
