Recent statistics have reported that the total area of Brazil is about 3 × 10^6 square miles, while the total area of Japan is about 2 × 10^5 square miles.

Create and solve an equation that can be used to find about how many times larger the area of Brazil is than the area of Japan.

Brazils area / Japans area = (3 x 10^6) / (2 x 10^5)

Brazils area = 3 x 10^6 = 3000000 square miles
Japans area = 2 x 10^5 = 200000 square miles

Now we can divide Brazils area by Japans area, to find out how many times bigger Brazil is than Japan:
3000000 / 20000 = 15

Brazil is 15 times larger than Japan.
