Student 1 (10,2):

y = 1/2x + 6
2 = 1/2(10) + 6
2 = 5 + 6
2 = 11

Since this is already false, this answer is false

Student 2:

y = 1/2x + 6
5 = (1/2)(-2) + 6
5 = -1 + 6
5 = 5

True, now move onto the next equation

y = 2x +9
5 = (2)(-2) + 9
5 = -4 + 9
5 = 5

Also true, which means Student 2 is correct.
