Answer: - to allow urine to drain

Explanation: - If you have an obstruction in the tube that carries urine out of your body (Urethra). An example would be if you have scarring or prostate enlargement, to allow you to urinate if you have bladder weakness or nerve damage that affects your ability to pee.

The Nurse should end the catheterization process by documenting the size of the inserted catheter, patients responses to the procedure, the amount of water contained in the balloon, and thorough assessment of the urine.
