The sum of two natural numbers is 28. The product of these

numbers is three times the square of the lesser number. Find the
numbers.

Answer:

7 and 21

Explanation:

x+y=28

xy=3x squared

y=28-x

x(28 - x) = 3x^2

28x - x^2 = 3x^2

4x^2 - 28x = 0

(0 is not a natural number)

4x - 28 = 0

x = 7

7 + y = 28

y = 28 - 7

y = 21
