for 1:

area for total reactangle= 11×8=88cm^2

area of rectangle that is cut off =7×4=28cm^2

area of polygon 1= 88-28=60cm^2

therefore answer D

for 2:

area for total reactangle=12×6=72

area of rectangle that is cut off =3×4=12

area of polygon 2=72-12=60

therfore answer D
