Flying against the jetstream, a jet travels 5100 miles in six hours, flying with the jetstream the same jet travels 9630 miles in nine hours. What is the rate of the jet in still air and what is the rate of the jetstream?

The rate of the jet in still air is 5100/6=850 miles per hour.


The rate of the jetstream is 9630/9=1070 miles per hour.
