Find the surface area of the cylinder round to the nearest 10th radius= 5 cm height= 5cm

Explanation

A cylinder is basically 2 circles and a rectangle (when trying to find out surface area). The area of the circles is 5 squared(25) times Π. This means that 1 circle is 25Π so 2 circles is 50Π.

Now we need to find the rectangle. We know that one length is 5 and so now to find the other one we find the circumference of the circle

Formula for circumference is Πd or 2Πr.

Here I will use 2Πr which is 10Π. This means that the total surface area is

50Π+10Π=60Π or 188.4955592cm^2 or 188.5cm^2 to the nearest tenth.
