From corresponding angles, as both pairs of lines are parallel, we know that 79 is the supplement of x. That means 79 + x = 180.

From this we have x = 101 degrees.

From corresponding angles, x is the supplement of ( 4y - 1 )

Since we know x = 101, we can plug it into our equation:

4y - 1 + 101 = 180

Simplifying:

4y + 100 = 180

Subtracting 100 from both sides of the equation:

4y = 80

Dividing by 4:

y = 20
