Since both lines are tangent to the circle, and just by looking at how WX and XY are positioned; we can form 2 right triangles. This is a technique used and taught to me by my math teacher. Making us to say that WX=XY. Also, VX is congruent to itself by the reflective property of congruence. With WX=XY, we can write the equation 2x+5=3x-3 to solve for x. Lets add 3 by both sides, we get 2x+8=3x, and 2x can be subtracted by both sides. That would equal 8=x. Good luck with your IXL!
