As they approached the house, Jake noticed that the front door was slightly ajar. "Guys, look," he said, pointing to the door. "It's open. The other teenagers hesitated, but Emily said, "Come on, it's just a silly rumor. Let's check it out." The group cautiously entered the house, their flashlights illuminating the dark and dusty interior.
The air was musty and thick with cobwebs. They explored the first floor, finding nothing out of the ordinary. But as they climbed the creaky stairs to the second floor, they heard a faint whispering.
