A spinal cord injury is an injury to the spinal cord resulting in either a temporary or permanent change in its function. Some spinal cord injuries are a result of illness, like multiple sclerosis, and some are injury-related like falling off a roof and breaking your spine. Where the injury occurs determines what part of the body is affected. If the injury occurs in the cervical vertebrae, the injury can result in loss of sensation in all 4 limbs (tetraplegia), if the injury occurs in the lumbar region it can cause loss of sensation in the legs (paraplegia). The injury needs to occur above where the nerves leave the spinal column.

Pick a spinal cord injury and make a poster about it.

Your poster should include:
A description of the spinal cord injury
If the injury is the result of an illness or the result of an accident
What can be done for a person that has the spinal cord injury
At least 5 facts about the spinal cord injury
Any other important information
