The total number of hats is the sum of all the hats in the table:

25 red straw hats + 20 white straw hats + 40 blue straw hats + 30 red cowboy hats + 25 white cowboy hats + 10 blue cowboy hats = 150 hats

Julian can choose any of the 150 hats, and there are 40 blue straw hats and 10 blue cowboy hats, for a total of 50 blue hats.

So, the probability of Julian choosing a blue hat is:

50 blue hats / 150 total hats = 1/3 or 0.333

Therefore, the probability of Julian choosing a blue hat is 1/3 or 0.333.
