One of the container is a cone and the other one is a cylinder.

They both have same radius of 3 in and height of 8 in.

Using volume formulas we can find that the cylinder is 3 times larger than cone:

• V(cylinder) = πr²h and
• V(cone) = πr²h/3

If we divide the first one by the second, we'll get:

• V(cylinder)/V(cone) = 3

The price of popcorn in the second choice is twice as much:

• $2.50/$1.25 = 2

As we see the second choice is better, since with twice the higher price it offers three times more of popcorn.
