Our surface area is made up of two different shapes: a square and triangles.

Area of a Square = length x length

A(square) = 4 x 4 = 16

Area of a Triangle = 1/2 x base x height

A(triangle) = 1/2 x 4 x 6 = 12

The net has one square and four triangles. We need to use this information so that we find the surface area of the entire figure and not just part of it.

Area of square + 4(area of triangle) = surface area

16 + 4(12) = surface area

16 + 48 = surface area

surface area = 64 cm^2

Answer: 64 cm^2

Hope this helps!
