here's how to find it:

Step 1: label the number x1, y1, x2, y2

5=x1

3=y1

7=x2

7=x2

Step 2: Put the numbers into y2-y1/x2-x1

  • 7-3/7-5=4/2=2

Step 3: Plug it in!!!!

Plug in a value for y (which can be 3 or 7. i picked 3), put in 2 for the slope, a value for x, and b is unknown. we have to do this because we have to put it into slope -intercept form, which is y=mx+b

Step 4: Solve for b

  • -7=b

Step 5: Put it all together again

  • y=2x-7
