The C-Spine Classification System is a way of categorizing cervical spine injuries based on their severity. There are 5 patient subgroups in this classification system:
1. A: Normal alignment and no evidence of injury
2. B: Abnormal alignment but no evidence of injury to the posterior ligament complex
3. C: Abnormal alignment with evidence of injury to the posterior ligament complex
4. D: Dislocation of the facet joints
5. E: Bilateral locked facets
These subgroups are used to help classify cervical spine injuries and determine the appropriate course of treatment.
