Every 4 years, there is a presidential election that occurs in the US. The majority of the US population votes for a president that they think can lead the US in the best possible way. But no, this is not entirely true, because the electoral college has most of the power to determine who the president is going to be, and not the popular vote of the population of the US.

People want to change this system because they think that it is unfair, and that it does not represent the peoples' opinion. This is true because more populated states have more power in deciding whether a certain president becomes president or not, and this means that less populated states, such as Wyoming, do not get a fair say in the political whereabouts of the US.

Some suggestions the people have as to improve the electoral college system is to let the population of the US, as we call a democracy, let them have a national popular vote. Another idea could be that every state has an equal amount of electoral college votes, not depending on what the number of their population is (although this one wouldn't work because larger states have to represent more people)
