Redistricting refers to the process of redrawing the boundaries of voting districts in order to adjust for changes in population. Gerrymandering, on the other hand, refers to the manipulation of voting district boundaries in order to benefit a particular political party or group. While redistricting is a necessary process that happens periodically, gerrymandering is often viewed as unethical and undemocratic.
