9. "Survival of the fittest" is a common expression. What do you think most people mean by this

expression?

How would you explain this expression to help someone understand how natural selection
actually functions?

Answer:

Explanation;

In the expression " Survival of the fittest" the fittest are organisms who have the highest likely chance living long enough produce offspring and pass on their genes, as a result of this nature selects those with the most fitness and allows them to continue to survive and reproduce which then continues the cycle of their adaptations and genes being passed on.
