To Calculate : area of the shaded region below,

First Let's find the Area of the right triangle:

Area(triangle) = 1/2 × Base × Height

= 1/2 × 56 × 56

= 1/2 × 3136

= 3136/2

= 1568 m².

Now, We are diameter of the circle = 20 m

Radius of the circle = 20/2 = 10 m

  • Area of circle = πr²

Acc. to question we have to use 3.14 as an

approximation for pi.

Area (circle) = 3.14 × 10 × 10

Area (circle) = 3.14 × 100

Area (circle) = 314 m²

Area of shaded region = Area of triangle - Area of circle =

= 1568 m² - 314 m²

= 1.254 square meters

Therefore, The approximate area of the shaded region is 1.254 square meters.
