Just recently, scientists have found strange life forms that surround hot-water vents at the bottom of the ocean.

These vents are sometimes called "smokers." They emit a black, dirty water and can be seen shooting into the blue of the ocean deep. Scientists found tubeworms up to a meter long near the smokers. Other creatures like giant clams were also found near the smokers.
They are so different because they are made up of sulfur. Also, their environment is so hot that they've been able to adapt to it. This gives scientists the idea that maybe plants and animals can live on planets where we would think life is impossible.
